grand plans for the year ahead
Posted on 19 January 2015
With school not going back for another week, I am still in this awkward holiday mode. The rest of the design world seems to be winding up again and I'm here trying to plan work for the new year, grow honey & gold and love and care for three children at home. It go's late into the night at times and the mornings are often off to a groggy start with a constant tension of too many ideas and too little time. This is the 'glamorous' life of a freelance designer, people! Squeezing in the work hours when and however I can!
I'm excited to get things started again for the new year though. I have some grand plans in my head. I have new ideas for getting more scripture into your homes with some new shop items in the pipeline which I'm really excited about. I'm in the throes of working out samples, and then planning photography; styling some spaces in my home so they look more schmick than in real life. Challenging yet fun! : )
I have been thinking a lot about this space here too and how I want to be more committed to sharing stories of faith & encouraging you with promises from scripture a little more regularly. I want this to be a space that is not just about beautiful designs & product pushing, but about a bunch of women hanging out, sharing life, bringing joy and beauty, and "hand-holding" through the trenches of life. I want this space and this whole business to be about encouraging women to turn their eyes from the circumstances and up and away toward the one who is almighty to save and can change those circumstances on a dime. I believe He still does miracles today and I want in on all of them from the small to the down right phenomenal.
I have a handful of stories some lovely women have sent in over the past month of how the Honey & Gold wall prints have given them some 'God moments' and I want to share those with you over the coming weeks. I would love to hear your stories of faith too if you'd be willing to share. Times that you have used scripture to fight in a situation. A promise you are holding on to. An answered prayer. An encouragement you've experienced. I love hearing the good news in life and I'm sure I'm not alone!
If you would like to send in your 'God Story' feel free to email me jordan(at)honeyandgold.com.au . I look forward to hearing from you!
